Malice Domestic 38
Yes! I finally had a chance to attend this mystery conference in Maryland. I had a blast.
Met my developmental editor, Korina Moss; some new friends from Crime Writers of Color; and even met a Clubhouse regular I knew from her voice but not in person.
This conference is for authors and fans and takes place in Bethesda at the same hotel each year. Not sure if I will be there next year since I’m bad at planning that far in advance, but as it gets closer, I probably will.
The best panel at the conference for me contained speakers who are authors with day jobs in the fields of crime: detectives, police, pathologists, and prosecutors. It was the best one, and the information they shared was priceless.
Regarding the series I’m writing, the first two books are complete: Book 1 is Lethal Lace Front, and book 2 is Slayed & Laid to Rest. I’m currently 3/4 of the way through book 3, Plucked Too Soon. I am so excited about this series. and enjoy writing it.
At my editor’s and some fellow writers’ urging, I did submit the first book to a few agents and publishers but have not heard back from anyone yet. That process takes months, so I continue to write and wait. However, if no one picks up the series, I will be publishing it myself, and to prepare, I have a full marketing plan, including how I will attract readers in unique ways (more on that later).
So I hope you all will support the series and, of course, buy the book. There will be pre-order events on my YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, so stay tuned!
Love you all and TTYL
